The sacrament of First Holy Communion starts with the preparation of the child's mind and soul to accept the body and blood of Jesus Christ and the gifts they receive as they consume him.  

This program is a 2 year program.  The program starts with a hour weekly class in CCD 2 and concludes at the end of CCD 3 in the spring of each year when they receive the gift of the Body of Christ.

The sacrament of Confirmation is a culmination of a young teenager's understanding of Jesus Christ, God and the Holy Spirit as one being. Their acceptance of faith in God and to love one another like Jesus brings to them the gift of the Holy Spirit in which they will bestowed wisdom, understanding, knowledge, fortitude, counsel, piety, and fear of the Lord as they continue their journey into adulthood.

This is also a 2 year program starting their journey in CCD 7 with a one hour session.  In CCD 8, the child will enroll into a 2 hour class that brings the child's faith journey to completion as they are conferred the gift of the Holy Spirit by the Bishop of the Diocese of Oakland.
